About us
Ginsmith Ltd is a Small but forward thinking business, owned and run by Phil Smith.
Phil has a background in engineering & sales, but also has a long, deep history & passion for Gin, Rum & vodka, often thinking about how much well known brands could and should be improved. Phil, having worked with various world Gold award winning distilleries throughout the UK then called upon his passion and expertise and decided to create an award winning distillery and enabled Ginsmith Ltd to be born, allowing him to expertly craft some of the finest spirits available in the UK today. The idea & business model was born during the lockdown in 2020, the company was set up and Ginsmith started trading in December 2020. Lockdown presented a lot of problems to many well established businesses but regardless Ginsmith went from strength to strength. During lockdown Ginsmith created a brand new distillery & obtained all the necessary licences & after many months of trial and error we finally perfected our first gins, Rums & Vodka's.
In December Ginsmith was awarded 2023/2024 the Rossendale best micro business award!
The company is now looking forward to more awards and continued growth.
We believe in Quality & Value, we overfill our bottles to give you more!
We sterilise our bottles with no rinse sanitiser...but then power rinse anyway!
Now & future plans
Ginsmith embarked on a venture with good friends Bee-Ginning Gin Company who had been looking for a quality distillery to produce a bespoke gin for them, a beautifully balanced gin that would satisfy the most demanding gin drinker and also appeal to the novice gin drinker too. Late Dec 2020 Ginsmith launched our Bee-Ginning premium gin Range, both Ginsmith & Bee-Ginning were delighted with the results and the feedback has been fantastic. This has led to a close & strong collaboration between us.
We have been on a steep learning curve, we’ve consulted with friends in our industry, many of whom are the very best award winning distillery’s in the world! We are extremely committed to producing a Premium range of spirits which holds wide appeal yet is sophisticated and smooth, we are very proud of our range and have lots of exciting ideas for future products using everything Ginsmith has learnt and experienced along the way.
Premium
It could be because of our 4-stage reverse Osmosis water filter. The 5 & 1 micron filtration system or perhaps it’s the freshest ingredients including our Black sambuca Berries which we grow & hand pick that make our Gins Premium!

We have produced our Gin with some of the industry’s leading experts and award-winning experts, once our recipes have been perfected it stays that way & replicated for every batch, so consistency & quality is assured for every bottle we produce.
